Richard Hannon
Richard Hannon (born 1945) is a British horse trainer based in East Everleigh Stables, Marlborough, Wiltshire.
Hannon's family has a tradition of horse training—his father was also a horse trainer, his son Richard is currently the assistant trainer, and his son-in-law Richard Hughes is the stable jockey. Hannon himself took his license in 1970. Since then he has trained more than 100 winning horses over 11 racing seasons. Hannon is recognized as a specialist in training two-year-olds.
Awards and honours
Hannon was honoured as champion trainer in 1992, 2010 and 2011. Three of the horses he trained—Mon Fils, Don't Forget Me and Tirol—won the 2,000 Guineas horse race in 1973, 1987 and 1990, respectively.
